Support the Library
Give to the library, invest in ALL of us.
Menomonie Public Library makes our community better for everyone.
We know you love your library! Alongside you, we strengthen and connect our community.
But, did you know there is a gap between what our library needs to operate and provide programs and what a municipal budget can provide?
We depend on you to partner with us to bridge the gap. A stronger community is a win for all of us.
ONE library. ONE community.
THREE ways to give.
FOR TODAY
The library has immediate needs and ideas for ways to enrich the community today that current public funding doesn’t cover.
Your gift FOR TODAY will be used immediately for the greatest current need at the library. Gifts may be given to celebrate, honor, or remember.
FOR TOMORROW
The Friends of Menomonie Public Library invest time and money so the library can continue to do good work in this place we all call home.
Your gift FOR TOMORROW will be directly gifted back to the library to sponsor events and support the library in a variety of ways.
FOR THE FUTURE
The Menomonie Public Library Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing the Library and Menomonie for over 30 years.
Dollars are invested now, to provide dividends FOR THE FUTURE. Your gift will leave a legacy so the library will be around for generations to come.
We can do this TOGETHER!
A sincere thank you to the following organizations, individuals and families for supporting the library and in turn helping us support our community! We are so grateful for each and every gift!
ENDOWMENTS, TRUSTS, & ESTATES
Joan Polasky Estate Gift
Joan Polasky, a long time lover of Menomonie Public Library, passed away in 2021. She gifted the library with an annuity gift from her estate to support:
- Building an awareness of/access to mental health resources
- Celebrating the building’s unique architectural aesthetic
- Highlighting art and nature as vehicles for building resilience
The Board of Trustees is deeply grateful for her legacy gift, and is initiating a capital campaign, to further the reach of this bequest. Library leaders and community members will work to create a tribute to this remarkable person for years to come.
FRIENDS OF MENOMONIE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Friends of Menomonie Public Library is a non-profit group that supports the library through memberships and used book sales. We are so grateful for all of their support!
Music Over Menomin 2023
The Friends of the Library gifted the library with $5,000 to sponsor Music Over Menomin in 2023! The funds will be used to pay the performers for the 10 night music series that we hold on our lawn every Thursday throughout the summer months. What a gift to the community!
GIFTS & GRANTS
Vibrant Spaces Grant
A $44,250 grant was awarded from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. It will be used to create an outdoor space for the community and the library. This grant will be paired with the gift from the Polasky estate to make an even greater impact. Learn more about the vibrant spaces grant.
Menomonie Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber gave the library a grant to host “The Beary Patch” sculpture that is on the library lawn. The artist is Dale Lewis. This sculpture is part of a sculpture tour. Come on down & meet our bear and then check out all the other sculptures around town!
In Honor of Amy Eitrheim and Memory of Dr. Dave Eitrheim
An anonymous $300 gift was given to the Menomonie Public Library in honor of Amy Eitrheim and in memory of Dr. Dave Eitrheim. This gift will be used to build relationships with the seniors in our community.
Rotary Club of Menomonie
The Rotary Club of Menomonie gifted the library $1,000 for bussing all Menomonie 1st graders to the library for an interactive field trip to learn about the library and for some, to get their very first library card!
Thank you to Jessica Graham [library board member and MSD’s K-5 Library Media Technology Integrator] and Jodi Bird for writing this grant! Thank you to the Rotary for providing this opportunity for the 1st graders!
Thrivent
Menomonie Thrivent’s Red Cedar Team, gave the library a monetary gift to purchase supplies for our popular Tiny Art Show program. This gift will enable us to offer this popular program to ALL ages [even adults!] this summer.
Thank you to Thrivent and Lynnette Smith, who took action to help the library receive the gift!
MENOMONIE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION
The Menomonie Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been supporting the Library for over 30 years. We are so grateful for their continuous support through the years.
New Meeting Room Doors
The Menomonie Public Library Foundation recently funded new doors for the library meeting room.
The $5,000+ project is an important piece in maintaining our beautiful building. The new wooden doors have windows to make it easier for parents to check in on little ones during storytimes and for people to see what events are happening.
The meeting room and 2 additional library spaces are available for public use. Find more information and how to request to use the meeting room here.
