*There are a limited number of passes available.
Starting after May 1st, library card holders at over 160 libraries across Wisconsin can check out a daily admission pass from participating libraries including the Menomonie Public Library. The passes will be valid for free admission for one vehicle at any state park, forest or recreation area where admission is required.
Library patrons can check out passes for a day visit to any state park, forest or recreation that requires an admission pass. Here’s the full list of participating libraries by county. The program ends December 31, 2023.
Along with the day pass, the cardholder will receive an informational kit of state park system materials and maps, a Wisconsin Explorer book, stickers, accessibility information and more. The goal of the program is to expand access to Wisconsin state park system properties to new visitors.
The program, Check Out Wisconsin’s State Parks At Your Library, is a collaborative effort between the DNR, Wisconsin Library Association’s Wisconsin Association of Public Libraries, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and the C.D. Besadny Conservation Fund from the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.
