With financial support from the Menomonie Public Library Foundation, the library has acquired a ROOM personal office booth. Our patrons often request a quiet, private space. Our open floor plan limits us in providing that. We have been trying to create private spaces with furniture and dividers. The ROOM personal office booth fits into that strategy. It can be used for quiet study, to make a personal or business phone call, or conduct a video chat session.
The booth is equipped with an interior light and air circulating fans. It has power outlets underneath the built-in desk. There is space on the small desk for a laptop computer or tablet and working papers. While I wouldn’t say it is soundproof like a recording studio, it is constructed with sound-dampening insulation so it is very quiet inside.
